Woman gets 5 years behind bars for DUI hit-and-run

A Los Banos woman was sentenced to five years in state prison for causing serious injury to a well-known Oakhurst physician when she left a casino and, while intoxicated, hit the victim’s car then fled the scene, Madera County District Attorney Michael Keitz said.

Cathy Robertson, 52, was sentenced to five years behind bars last week for causing major bodily injury to Dr. John McBride on Jan. 20 of this year.

On that day, Robertson left Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino around 8 p.m. with a blood-alcohol content at 0.17, more than twice the legal limit, Keitz said.

Robertson got into her car then traveled south on State Route 41, where she drifted across the center dividing line and slammed into McBride’s car...
