Woman ejected twice from car

A 20-year-old Chowchilla woman survived being ejected twice from a moving car on State Route 41 at Avenue 12, but sustained major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Acting CHP commander Sgt. Michael Donnelly said the Friday night incident was unusual.

The woman and a 17-year-old male driver, both from Chowchilla, were seen in a 2001 Mitsubishi driving westbound on Avenue 12, east of SR 41 about 6 p.m., when for unknown reasons the driver made an abrupt U turn and the woman landed on the pavement.

“We really don’t know how the woman was ejected at this point, but domestic violence may have been involved, and that part of the investigation was turned over to the Madera County Sheriff’s Department,” Donnelly said...
