Woman crashes car through Madera home

A 19-year-old woman crashed through the front window of a home on Beechwood Road, north of Avenue 12, Friday after she felt dizzy and lost control of her car, the California Highway Patrol said.

She told officers she may have briefly blacked out when she failed to make the turn at Rancho Avenue, went through a fence and plowed straight through the large front window of the home on the south side of the intersection, officers said.

The driver was taken to Madera Community Hospital to be evaluated. She lives in the area and her name is not being released, officers said.

The silver Honda Accord ended up completely inside the house. Homeowner Chris Alcorn said he and a friend were sitting in the driveway when they saw the car approaching about 3:20 p.m...
