Jannice Aguilar, 39, of Oakhurst was convicted of felony cruelty to animals last week in the Sierra Division of the Madera Superior Court at Bass Lake, according to a county official.
The charge was filed against Aguilar after she was observed in Oakhurst on August 29, 2012, to be holding a small puppy on the ground and punching it repeatedly with her fist until its eye was dislocated from its socket, said Madera County District Attorney Michael Keitz.
The Superior Court has set sentencing in the Sierra Division for April 9.
