A woman who painted rocks with children for $1 at the Madera District Fair on Saturday and Sunday says she was told Tuesday she wasn’t supposed to charge money and wants to return it.

Glenda Reese, who painted lady bugs on rocks with guests at the fair, said her booth was set up in a building that was supposed to provide free activities. Only no one told her that, she said.

Reese has in the past provided her services at schools and charged $1.50 per child as she pays for the rocks and supplies herself.

She said she feels awful about the mistake and wants to return the money to anyone who wants it back. She can be contacted at 661-4425.
