A north valley woman identified as a suspect in a fuel theft case at a cotton gin business, where 250 gallons of gas was stolen, is behind bars after being arrested at her home in Merced County.

Madera County Sheriff’s Ag Crimes detective Adam McEwen tracked 48-year old Amy Tinoco to a residence on Stanford in Planada on Thursday, where she was taken into custody without incident, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Erica Stuart.

The Merced County woman, who lists her occupation as house cleaner, was wanted on receiving stolen property and trespassing charges.

Tinoco, also known as Amy Chavez and Amy Perez, remains jailed in Madera County Department of Corrections in lieu of $30,000 bail, Stuart said.
