Trial setting was delayed Friday for a woman accused of attempted murder because the woman is due to give birth soon.
Leanne Ballard, 33, was arrested Sept. 4 after allegedly stabbing Robin Gallegos, 32, in the back, wrist, and head and then trying to run him over with a car when he ran from her behind the Lowe’s on Schnoor Avenue in Madera.
Ballard’s trial date was scheduled to be set Friday, but the prosecution and defense agreed to push back the date to allow Ballard enough time to give birth and recover.
Ballard is scheduled to appear in court April 26 at 8:30 a.m. in Department 2 for trial setting.
