Wish to be granted for girl battling brain cancer

Abby Grace Needham, the 4-year-old Madera girl diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, had one wish for her upcoming birthday.

Like the wish she had fulfilled with the Make-A-Wish Foundation last year, Abby wants to go to Disneyland when she turns five March 25.

Thanks to an outpouring of community support, that wish will be granted, and a car wash fundraiser Saturday to help fulfill that goal will still take place to assist her family and raise child cancer awareness.

“The awesome news is that they hit their number [Tuesday] night for Disneyland,” said Jamie Gallegos, the lead organizer of the upcoming car wash. “I started getting emails asking if we were canceling the car wash because of that and I said ‘absolutely not!’ This is about supporting the family and getting them whatever they need.” ...
