Incumbent District 5 Supervisor Tom Wheeler defeated rival Paul Cliby with nearly 65 percent of the vote in numbers reported late Tuesday from the primary election.
Wheeler, a resident of North Fork, said he was pleased with the lead which he felt was an indicator of voter confidence in his abilities.
“I’m feeling real, real comfortable,” said Wheeler, who first won election in 2006. “Last time I was up for election the same sort of thing happened and I won by the same amount. So I’m really excited right now that it looks like the people will give me four years to represent them. I’ve got things to do. I’m not done yet!”
