Western film festival set for Friday, Saturday

The local college has plans to host a film festival featuring Western films on Friday and Saturday. Admission and popcorn will be free, but refreshments are to be sold.

The “More Than a Pretty Gun” Western film festival is organized by English professor Stephen Barile and Educational Advisor Dan Rivera. The festival will be held in Room AM-120 of the Madera Community College Center, 30277 Ave. 12.

“Shane,” which is not a rated film, is set to start at 7 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, the unrated film “Ride The High Country” will be played at 9 a.m. and the R-rated movie “The Outlaw Josie Wales” will shown at 11:30 a.m.
