Water leak causes anger

Business owners neighboring a building on 313 W. Olive Ave., formerly occupied by Mi Rancho Supermarket, complained all week about water leaking from the back of it. Reports conflict on whether it has been fixed.

“I’ve called since Monday and nothing has been done about it,” said Chris Mariscotti, who owns The Vineyard Restaurant across the street from the shopping center where the abandoned building sits. “This needs to be repaired. We’re in a drought and water is just being wasted and nothing is being done about it.”

Mariscotti said he called landlord T&J Realty to no avail. The phone number listed for T&J Realty has a voicemail recording by a woman who says her name is Gin Sue. Calls made were unreturned.

On Friday, an employee from Madera Valley Water on site said he repaired the leak. He attributed the water leak to possible vandalism...
