In order to participate in the Nov. 6 general election, citizens must register to vote by Monday, Oct. 22, said Rebecca Martinez, Madera County clerk and registrar of voters.

To be eligible to register, a person must be a U.S. citizen, live in Madera County and be 18 years old on or before election day. Registered voters who have moved, changed their name, or wish to change their political party must re-register by Oct. 22, Martinez said.

Voter registration cards are available at the County Clerk’s office (call to request a card by mail or come in), local Post Offices and local libraries. Or, citizens may register to vote online at www.madera-county.com or www.registertovote.ca.gov.

The County Clerk’s Office will be open until 6 p.m. on Oct. 22 to accept voter registration cards...
