Community Action Partnership of Madera County is accepting applications from those who would like to volunteer in its Victim Services Center.

The center helps victims of crime, including those who have been sexually assaulted, raped or battered. Services include counseling, information and referrals. Volunteer duties include answering crisis calls to the 24-hour hotline, accompanying victims to court, working on special projects and providing community education.

Applications may be downloaded from and turned in to the coordinator at 1225 Gill Ave. by May 12.

Volunteers are expected to commit to 65 hours of training over six weeks, which will focus on domestic violence and sexual assault. Applicants must also pass a background check and be at least 18 years old...
