Victim’s Rights Week kick off set for April

Four individuals and one business will be honored April 5 in a ceremony set to “kick off” National Crime Victims’ Rights Week later that month.

The awards ceremony, hosted by Community Action Partnership of Madera County, will honor­ Sally Moreno of the county District Attorney’s Office, Zak Zamudio of the local sheriff’s department, Mark Trukki of city’s police department, Judge Ernest LiCalsi of Madera County Superior Court and the Baltimore Aircoil Company.

The gathering will be noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Madera County Courthouse Museum, 210 W. Yosemite Ave. If it rains, it will be moved to the Victim Services office at 1225 Gill Ave.

The ceremony will also feature a butterfly release, a Victims Memorial Quilt display, and lunch for the first 100 attendees...
