Shards of glass littered the public entrance of Madera County’s Courthouse building Friday morning after vandals smashed a window and door sometime overnight.

Two rocks were found that deputies say were used to shatter one of the glass doors and destroy the side panel of a window.

On surveillance video, a light-skinned male suspect could be seen riding up on a silver bike about 2:30 a.m., dismounting, flinging objects at the glass, mounting his bike and departing. He wore a black baseball cap, brown jacket (possibly leather), a red shirt, and black pants.

Anyone who may have information is asked to call either the Madera County Sheriff’s Office at 559-675-7770 or CRIME STOPPERS at 498-STOP.
