Stories that brought laughter and tears to a reverent audience were part of a ceremony at the Henry Madden Library of Fresno State University on Wednesday to accept the stories of 34 Central Valley veterans into historical record.
The veterans, whose service varied from every branch of the military during World War II to the current conflict in Afghanistan, were interviewed by students of Fresno State as part of the Central California War Veterans Oral History Project.
The project has students sit down with veterans from the Central Valley and record their stories under accepted historical standards and guidelines.
Once recorded and reviewed, the interviews are housed permanently at the library for anyone to access...
