Two nabbed after hit-and-run collision

A hit and run, head-on collision on H Street near 2nd Street that resulted in the arrest of two Madera women was the most serious incident of Super Bowl weekend, a time known for drinking and partying in the city.

Police arrested both drivers, 56-year-old Jacqueline Christensen, and 25-year-old Maxine Sears, on suspicion of driving under the influence. Christensen was also charged with hit and run, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Madera Police Sgt. Tom Burns said the collision occurred Saturday morning about 2 a.m.
