Two Madera wineries win awards in Valley wine competition

Wines from Madera’s Chateau Lasgoity and Quady Winery won gold and silver awards at this year’s San Joaquin Valley Wine Competition.

Ninety-four wines — including three produced in Madera — merited awards at this year’s competition, held April 4 at Ramos-Torres Winery in Kingsburg.

Chateau Lasgoity saw its 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon win a gold “Best of Class” medal and its 2010 Blanc Du Val win a silver medal at the competition.
