Two convicted of ’08 murder

Two Chowchilla men were convicted of first-degree murder with special circumstances and attempted murder Tuesday morning by separate juries in the 2008 execution-style slaying of a dairy worker.

Jesus Reynoso Flores, 25, and Jose Antonio Flores-Ventura, 27, both of Chowchilla, will be sentenced June 21. They face life in prison without parole for their actions on Jan. 19, 2008.

On that day, video evidence showed the two entered the milking parlor of Coelho Dairy in Chowchilla to rob employees who were just paid for their work.

Flores walked up and shot 18-year-old Alberto Navarez-Torres twice from behind at close range, killing him. Another worker, Sergio Alejandre, was shot in the back of the head but survived, leading to the conviction of “willful, deliberate and premeditated attempted murder” for both Flores and Ventura...
