Trustees move ahead in search for a new school boss

The search for a new school superintendent for Madera Unified School District has begun anew after the school board scrapped its last plan to replace former Superintendent Gustavo Balderas.

The Cosca Group Leadership Development Corporation (TCG) will conduct the next search for MUSD’s new schools chief.

The board voted 5-0 at a special meeting for TCG to replace Wendell Chun’s Education Leadership Services in the attempt to assist trustees to select someone to lead the district. Trustees Lynn Cogdill and Michael Salvador were absent.

Board President Ricardo Arredondo told The Tribune on Thursday that the board will meet with TCG over the next couple of weeks to fine-tune the timeline for the search process. Arredondo said the board wants to hire a new superintendent as soon as possible...
