Sunday’s Summer Concert in the Park will feature noted accordionists in a tribute to Madera Music Man, the late Jerry Venturi. A renowned accordionist and musician, he owned Venturi’s House of Music and started many young people on a musical career.

The concert will be held at the amphitheater at Lions Town and Country Park beginning at 7 p.m. Performers scheduled to appear include Chuck Dafina, Roberto Rosas, Cazadores, and members of the Jerry Venturi Band; Ernie Palacios, Ron Delarm, Jessie Bloodworty, Kevin Cearly, and Lloyd Stark. Also performing will be teenager Christine Mariani, who wowed the crowd last year with her playing.

Cold refreshments will be available from the concession, with proceeds benefitting the Adult Day Care Center. The concerts are sponsored by the Madera County Arts Council and Madera Parks and Community Services, and are supported by local businesses, service clubs, and individuals.
