Heart of drug operation in Madera County, authorities say
Three brothers with Bay Area connections have been jailed after a tri-county drug raid in Madera, Santa Clara and Stanislaus counties, according to authorities. The raid began early Tuesday and ended late that night.
Seven Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team (SCCSET) agents and six Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team (MADNET) agents served search warrants at a Madera home on Olympia Road, near Avenue 20, and a Chowchilla home on Avenue 18 1/2, not far from Pilot Truck Stop off of State Route 99.
At Madera, agents seized seven 40-gallon trash bags that contained 179 pounds of packaged, processed marijuana and $61,005. At Chowchilla, agents found eight 40-gallon trash bags filled with more than 200 pounds of packaged, processed marijuana, $30,320, a 12-gauge shotgun and a .22 caliber rifle — both loaded.
Meanwhile 10 SCCSET agents served a search warrant in San Jose, made one arrest, and found an undisclosed amount of marijuana and $6,000.
