Trains stopped after crane overturns

Trains were halted for several hours Monday morning when a crane working on improvements to the Avenue 12 overpass tipped over onto the Union Pacific railroad tracks.

The subcontractor operating the crane was not injured, and no one else was hurt in the accident.

Trains were stopped from 7:30 a.m. to the afternoon as workers removed the crane and repaired the damaged tracks.

It is not believed that drugs or alcohol played a part in the accident, said Gloria Rodriguez, public information officer for the California Department of Transportation...
