Two workshops will be held at the Madera County Workforce Assistance Center next month to help Social Security and disability beneficiaries return to work.
The Madera County Workforce Investment Corporation will explain the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work program and Work Incentives program — which allow beneficiaries to reduce their countable income so they can continue to receive cash benefits while exploring work — at the workshops, which are free and open to the public.
Under the Ticket to Work program, most beneficiaries receiving SSDI or SSI benefits based on disability may assign their ticket to an Employment Network (EN) to obtain services and supports in preparing and entering work and maintaining employment.
The workshop on Sept. 5 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. is for beneficiaries receiving SSDI benefits. Those receiving SSI can attend the workshops on Sept. 6 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m...
