A Madera teen was arrested Thursday morning on felony charges of methamphetamine sales and distribution, Madera County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Erica Stuart said, and authorities believe he could have sold as much as a quarter pound in the last two weeks.
Stuart said the 15-year-old — whose name cannot be released by authorities — was caught with more than $400 cash, about a half-ounce of methamphetamine, and items related to the sale of the drug at a home off of West Almond Avenue.
Madera County Narcotic Enforcement Team (MADNET) agents further told Stuart that the teen allegedly conducted business in a car that had a “crudely-manufactured hidden compartment” to hide the drugs.
“The bottom line is this is a teenager moving methamphetamine around and distributing it for sales,” Stuart said. “It’s almost not surprising based on the number of kids getting arrested who are caught with marijuana, the drug of choice, and who are involved in criminal activity.” ...
