There are still a few spots remaining for teams to enter the Madera Elks 13th annual Rib Cook-off scheduled for Saturday at the lodge at 112 W. 6th St. The event has grown over the years and is the largest cook-off in Madera. Entry fee for a four-person team is $40. Ribs are provided by the Elks Lodge.
Awards will be given for the People’s Choice and a panel of three judges, after comparing presentation, texture and taste, will award the top three places with the grand prize of $150 and a new smoker.
Gates open at 11 a.m. Saturday.
