Local business owners Jim and Gayle Burnette decided to forego their family holiday expenditures this year and instead donate the money to a worthy local cause.
Being animal lovers, the Taco Bell owners were touched by recent events in the news and decided to donate $3,000 to the Friends of Madera Animal Shelter group.
Gayle Burnette said the family had always been happy to help the shelter and had previously donated goods like dog beds, toys and blankets, but this year the need seemed greater.
