Suspect in senseless beating brought back from Oregon

A second suspect in the near-fatal beating of a farm worker earlier this year was booked into Madera County Jail this week, and authorities have asked the public’s help in finding two more.

Oscar Tista, 19, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Oregon last month then was extradited and booked into Madera County Jail Wednesday night said Erica Stuart, spokesperson for the Madera County Sheriff’s Department.

Cristobal Rubio, 18, was arrested last month in Madera County for his alleged involvement in the June assault which Stuart said left a 31-year-old male victim, still in the hospital, nearly dead.

“The victim is still struggling to survive,” Stuart said. “He has broken bones, missing teeth, he was beaten about the head … let’s put it this way, it’s a miracle he’s still alive.” ...
