Much left to be done at MUSD

Madera Unified School Superintendent Gustavo Balderas will be offered the job of superintendent of Ocean View School District in Huntington Beach, Calif., on Tuesday evening. The contract will be effective Jan. 1, 2013, according to the agenda for a meeting of the Ocean View trustees set for Tuesday.

Although he offers no comment on whether or not he will accept the job, Balderas does confirm that a contract will be offered.

The MUSD superintendent, who has only been on the job in Madera a little more than a year, says the terms of the Ocean View contract have yet to be settled.

Balderas’ departure from Madera will leave several issues unsettled, not the least of which are negotiations with the teachers’ union...
