The Madera Sunrise Rotary Club held its “Demotion Night,” of outgoing officers, at the home of Phil and Rebecca Janzen. New officers were also installed at Tuesday’s annual dinner, by longtime club member Gordon Kennedy. In addition to the installation, a number of Paul Harris Fellowship awards were presented.

The new officers will take over duties July 1 and include: Monic Asenjo-Wilhite, president; Scott Wilhite, president-elect 2014-15; Aida Nassar, treasurer; and Cindy Vail, secretary. The board of directors include: Ken Siebert, Anthony Diaz, Anita Damiano, Virginia Lane-Pacheco, Bonnie Bitter and immediate past-president Marshal Bishop.

Those receiving Paul Harris Fellow Awards were Wesley Pacini, Peter Nassar, Shane Seibert, June Diane Moralez and Monic Asenjo-Wilhite. Each Paul Harris Fellow represents a $1,000 contribution to the Rotary Foundation.

The Sunrise Rotary Club is involved in local community betterment projects and youth activities. It is responsible for many improvements to the heavily used Sunrise Rotary Sports Complex where new restroom facilities are being built at the softball fields.
