An annual wine tasting event that was started three decades ago to build a research library continues to help pay the library’s expenses.

A Celebration of Wine, sponsored by the California State University, Fresno, Viticulture and Enology Alumni Association, is slated for Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Rancho Vista del Rio, also known as Borba Ranch, 6440 North Golden State Blvd., near State Route 99 and Avenue 7.

More than 70 wines from all the major wine-producing regions in California and the West Coast will be featured. Nearly 40 restaurants will offer food samples. A silent auction will include bottles signed by winemakers.

A post event with coffee, desserts and music by Patrick Contreras Band is planned for 5:30 p.m. to dusk. There will also be a demonstration of how oak barrels are made...
