The first of the Summer Movies in the Park series begins Friday with the showing of “Men in Black III” at the amphitheater at Lions Town and Country Park. The amphitheater is next to the Howard Road west parking lot. The movies will begin at dusk between 8:30 and 9.
The movies are provided by a grant from PG&E and sponsored by the Madera Parks and Community Services Department. Raj Beasla, regional director for Pacific Gas and Electric, was pleased they could help with the program. “These movies not only entertain, they also build upon the great sense of community shared by Madera residents and all of us at PG&E,” said Beasla.
The Movies in the Park series will continue every Friday evening at the park. Mayor Robert Poythress said he hopes everyone can bring a lawn chair, blanket or simply sit on the cool grass and enjoy a movie.
