The Madera County Arts Council’s Summer Concert in the Park returns to Lions Town and Country Park on Sunday with a performance by the popular group Nite Flite and dancing by Ballet Folklorico Mizajaoa. The concerts are co-sponsored by Madera Parks and Community Services and begin at 7 p.m. at the amphitheater.

Nite Flite has been together since 1995 and has performed at venues throughout the Central Valley, including Harris Ranch, Tenaya Lodge, Tachi Palace, Chukchansi Gold Resort and the Fresno Fair. Their talent allows them to play a wide variety of music including blues, classic rock, country western, and Tex Mex.

The colorful costumes and expert choreography of Ballet Folklorico Mizajaoa have delighted crowds since 2011, and will highlight the evening’s dance entertainment. The group has studied and learned dances from 11 of the 31 states of Mexico to showcase the different cultures of our southern neighbor.

During the concert, Latinas Unidas will sell fruit cups and the city parks concession will offer food and refreshments with proceeds benefitting the Madera Adult Day Care Center. The concerts are made possible by donations from service clubs, businesses and individuals.
