OAKHURST — The Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad will host a fundraiser June 24 to help raise money for the Children’s Museum of the Sierra in Oakhurst.

“We’re happy to help out the other museums in the area,” said Max Stauffer, owner of the historic railroad, which also includes the Thornberry Museum showcasing the history of the region.

“The Children’s Museum is a special place where kids can get excited about science and learning while having fun playing. It’s an important place for our community,” he said.

Guests will be able to enjoy the 12:30 p.m. ride on the historic steam engine followed by a barbecue lunch with live music. Cost is $25 for adults, or $12 for those 12 or younger. All money raised will go to the Children’s Museum through the Jarrod 4 Mayor Campaign, which is part of the Oakhurst Honorary Mayor Race...
