Four Fresno State students are hoping to draw national recognition for Central Valley wineries and agriculture by attempting to break a world record established by culinary professionals, celebrity chefs and others in Las Vegas.
At UnWINEd Central California, attendees will uncork wine bottles at the same time in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people uncorking wine simultaneously. The present achievement stands at 308 people.
Admission will be free for those 21 and older to the event planned for 7 p.m. Friday at Appellation California, 32749 Avenue 7.
The uncorking will begin at 8 p.m. and the first 50 people to arrive will receive a free participation kit, which includes a bottle of wine and a Metrokane bottle opener. The kits will be sold to others for $10...
