Madera Breakfast Lions George Hatfield and Lee Blackstone busily grilled sausage links on the club’s large barbecue during the club’s 4th annual Brewfest fundraiser Saturday afternoon at Courthouse Park. Throughout the day, a steady crowd sampled 30 U.S. beers and several gourmet sausages and cheeses.

Brewfest coordinator Matt Stickler was pleased with the turnout — approximately 200 people — on a day with plenty of local happenings as well as the location on the west side of the park near the gazebo with the old courthouse as a backdrop.

“The weather and ambiance could not be better for an event like this,” said Stickler. The band The Remnants performed for the festivities.

Proceeds from the Brewfest will benefit many Breakfast Lions youth activities, community betterment projects and the Lions Eye Foundation, which provides glasses to those who cannot afford them.
