St. Joachim 1st in area Academic Decathlon

St. Joachim School has taken first in an annual Academic Junior High Decathlon that involved 14 schools within the Catholic Diocese of Fresno.

The local elementary and middle school will represent the diocese in a statewide competition May 4 at St. Anthony of Padua in Fresno.

In the individual subject competition, Kenan Sagouspe took first place in science, Patrick Monreal won second in literature, Gillian Joy Singsing earned second place in math, and Gina Provenzano grabbed third place in fine arts. The entire team seized 4th place in logic and 4th place in the Super Quiz.
