Spring fair opens today: Junior exhibitor has final showcase

A young Madera woman who has won numerous local, state and national showmanship awards, exhibited a Hamsphire hog for the last time at the Chowchilla-Madera County Fair today.

Lindsay Tasos, 19, is home after completing her first year at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and showed the swine her family helped her raise.

Tasos — this year’s Reserve FFA Champion and Champion Advance Showman and Champion Hampshire — ended her livestock showing career successfully.

This event will be the last time the 2012 Madera South High School graduate will be eligible to compete in any junior showmanship events due to her age, she said...
