A thankful parent presented the Madera County Board of Education with an American flag that was flown in Iraq.
Lt. Col. David Hall, a resident of Eastern Madera County, made the presentation at the Sept. 11 meeting of the Madera County Board of Education.
Hall said the flag was flown onboard a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter of the United States Army during a mission supporting the key leader engagement between Robert M. Gates, Secretary of Defense and Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, Prime Minister of Iraq.
