The boy’s friends identified him to local TV media as Jacob Schumaker and said they were shocked and saddened by the incident. “He was very fun loving, and lived to ride his skateboard. He good at it and was rarely outside without it,” they said.

This is in regards to tragic accident on Farallon and Varden Dr. I live in that area and It so sad to hear about the pedestrian that was hit by a truck. I recently read speed limit on Varden is 55mph. That is rediculas. We have several peaple that go for walks and many kids that walk to school. It just blows my mind that the speed limit is so high. I have kids and it just kills me to think that it could have been one of my little ones. I think the speed limit should be 25mph. People really do drive fast on Varden. It doesnt supprise me that something tragic happen. Honestly what I think Varden Dr needs are SPEED BUMPS!!!!!. Maybe thats what it will take for people to slow down. I dont think with just posting up a speed limit sign will help. I would hate for another tragic accident to happen.
