Six students in the Madera County 4-H program will compete against county winners across California in sewing.
Fourteen local 4-H members learned this year to follow a pattern, fit a garment and model in front of a judging panel. The have competed in the following categories: recycled garments, wearable accessories, $19.99 purchase challenge and traditional sewing.
This year’s county winners were Kendall McKinney, Taylor Davis, Autumn Pecarovich, McKenna Beyer, Shelby Seybold and Raquel Flores.
The program is asking for donations of sewing machines to the project. To donate, call Jenn at 978-4750.
