Singer-songwriter Nicole Ripley will perform from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday during a Meet the Artist event held monthly at The Coffee Spot in the Madera Ranchos.
Ripley says she has been singing as long as she can remember. Born in El Salvador, Ripley was adopted by American parents at 6 weeks old and raised in Coarsegold. She sang, recited poetry and spoke German prior to starting school.
“My grandfather on my father’s side was a music teacher and my grandmother played the piano,” Ripley said. “My grandmother on the other side was the love of my life. It was from my mom’s side of the family that I learned little German songs and poetry.”
