Sign-ups for free toys ending

Today is the start of the last week to sign up for free toys from Madera County Toys for Tots.

Madera residents in need may visit the registration booth outside of Walmart, 1977 W. Cleveland Ave., today and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sign-ups will resume on Tuesday and go until Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The final weekend to register will be Dec. 7 and 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days.

Organizers said no calls will be answered regarding Madera County Toys for Tots after 6 p.m. on weekdays or weekends. Anyone seeking information should call Gloria Brown, the local organizer for Madera County Toys for Tots, at 718-0599 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays only.

All children wishing to receive toys must be signed up by their parents, who must provide proof of residency in Madera County, to be eligible. Toys will be distributed on Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon in the girls gymnasium of Madera South High School, 705 W. Pecan Ave...
