About 45 galleries, shops and home studios, featuring 92 artists, will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the 2012 Sierra Art Trails tour in eastern Madera County and Mariposa County.

Extensive information about the tour, including a map, profiles of the artists and photos of their works, is available in a glossy catalog sold through the Circle Gallery in Madera and Stellar Gallery in Oakhurst for $18. The catalog serves as a passport ticket to the tour.

“It gives people a chance to come here, see the great outdoors, enjoy the beauty of the mountains and see old friends and wonderful artwork at the same time,” said gallery owner Jon Bock, co-founder of Sierra Art Trails.

Visitors approaching the southern gate of Yosemite National Park will see signs along the roadway that point the way to art studios, galleries and to the homes of artists...
