Shriners screenings at hospital set for Saturday

Free screening for orthopedic impairments such as scoliosis will be given to children from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The free screenings, sponsored by Shriners of Fresno, will be in the Rehabilitation Center at Madera Community Hospital, 1200 E. Almond Ave.

Burn victims and children with orthopedic impairments will be evaluated for possible referral to Shriners Hospital in Sacramento. Services there will also be free, said Tom Crosno, the recorder for Shriners of Fresno.

Crosno said parents can ease the process by providing birth certificates and medical records, but they are not required...
