Sheriff searching for suspects

The Madera County Sheriff’s Department is looking for two burglary and larceny suspects, and Sheriff John Anderson is hoping the public can help identify the two from images of them caught on video surveillance tape in a store where they are believed to have used stolen credit cards.

On Sept. 17, deputies were called to a residence on Bella Vista Drive, located off Road 39 1/2 and north of Avenue 12. The homeowners were on vacation when thieves broke into their residence, stealing several thousand dollars worth of property and numerous debitcredit cards. A relative discovered the break-in during a house-check.

Detectives were able to make some headway Wednesday when fraudulent charges started appearing on the victim’s debit-credit cards. The shopping spree is believed to have started on or around Sept. 19. The cards were used at a number of stores, where they racked up thousands of dollars in purchases.

Two of those stores were able to get photos of the suspects — a man and a woman — on surveillance tape...
