Every seven minutes a child is bullied in the U.S., according to national statistics.

To change that, the Madera County Sheriff’s Department is kicking off the Central Valley’s first anti-bullying program.

Sheriff John Anderson and Detective Kristine Hawk explained the nationwide program — called radKIDS — Wednesday at a news conference.

“It stands for ‘resisting aggression defensively’ and teaches children how to resist abduction, molestation and bullying,” Hawk said...
