An eight-and-a-half-monthold North Fork boy left alone in a car parked at a picnic site near Bass Lake was rushed to the hospital Monday after crawling out of a window and landing on his head, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Department.
A witness in the area when the infant crawled out of the window about 1:30 p.m. called 911, sheriff’s department spokeswoman Erica Stuart said.
The child was airlifted to an area hospital with head injuries and has been placed in the custody of Child Protective Services, Stuart said. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
