A statewide nonprofit organization has chosen Community Service Officer Joann Evans of the local Sheriff’s Department as volunteer coordinator of the year.
Law Enforcement Volunteers of California announced the honor at its 13th annual conference Tuesday in Lodi. The organization’s members are law enforcement agencies, and the conference provides an opportunity for professional training and networking.
“Evans was chosen to receive this prestigious award for her exemplary service to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office law enforcement volunteers and the citizens of Madera County,” said Erica Stuart, spokeswoman for Madera County Sheriff John Anderson.
