The Madera County Sheriff’s Department has made 247 compliance checks of registered sex offenders in Madera County over the past two weeks, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Erica Stuart.

The work was done in cooperation with the U.S. Marshall’s Office, in an operation dubbed Guardian Angel.

The final report on the operation: 31 parole searches, 15 probation searches, 17 found to be out of compliance, 1 reported deceased and 10 arrests made, with two of those placed on ICE holds.

At a Thursday press conference on the operation, Sheriff John Anderson thanked the marshalls for their work in conjunction with sheriff’s deputies.
